QThree (The website you're on now) was created as my portfolio site for 2012. Feel free to look around!

The QThree website went through extensive design phases, ultimately resulting in the creation of 3 seperate websites. The current version that you're viewing now is the version I settled for. Check out the images on the right for an overview of the different websites and how this final version was created!

The site uses a script library known as jQuery that allows for the smooth page animations and advanced interactions you've probably already witnessed.

Functions using PHP were created in order to ensure the site was as modular as possible, allowing for the simple expansion when adding new projects.

Filepak is a free file hosting website that allows users to quickly and easily host their files in the cloud. Filepak had one goal in mind during its concept and creation - simplicity. Whilst other file hosts bombard their users with advertisements or wait times, Filepak did away with all of them to provide an interface that was simply select a file and hit upload. After an upload is complete, the user is presented with 2 links - one for embedding on websites or for use as a direct link (http://u.filepak.com/1234_filename.zip), the other being a shortlink (fpk.im/1234) for use on twitter or IMs.

Filepak also featured a MyPak system which allowed the user to enter a password when uploading a file to access their collection of files at a later time. Through MyPak, the user could also see how many times their file had been viewed as well as delete/copy links again.

With Filepak, we strongly believed the user should have a say on what goes on around the site. With this, we created a box at the bottom of the main page that allowed users to enter their thoughts, opinions, suggestions and improvements for Filepak. Most of the maintenance on the site included a lot of the suggestions from users around the globe.

Torbae Engineering is a small business operating in Hastings, Victoria, Australia. They approached me looking to create web presence with the exact specification on what they'd like the site to accomplish. Working closely with them, I was able to create a website they were pleased with.

The main features the site had to include were: a large Google Maps map with their location embedded into the site, a functioning home page that allowed them to post news whenever they see fit (the ability to remove news was also added), a projects page that allowed them to create new projects complete with a title, description of the project and an image gallery and the ability to control the entire website through an administrative control panel. I was able to accomplish all of this and more, adding a few features around the site that they were pleased with.

The administration panel was a main focus with this website - everything had to be easy to accomplish and mostly automated. Knowing this, I created a simple image uploader that allowed them to upload images directly into projects (complete with descriptions) and implemented them with Lightbox 2. News was a simple matter of text editing and submission - the site handled the chronological ordering and pagination.

I love web development. So much so that I design and develop in my spare time in order to both practice and gain a better understanding of the way the web works. Sometimes these designs are complete and polished enough to the point where I'd like to display them on this site.
